My name is James and I am a Chicagoan presently living in North Wales, United Kingdom. For all of you who have never moved to live another country, let me tell you it's a bit of a transition, especially here in North Wales. Coming from Chicago, it was bit like a freight train hitting a wall. It was that dramatic of a change. However, it's not all bad and that's because of the Welsh people, who I have grown to love and respect, for many reasons. It's a land of incredible natural beauty and one where, if you're an artist, a writer or photographer...the latter two of which I am by the way... you'll go completely mad if you don't create.It is a land filled with mystery, castles and romantic lore wherever you go. It's that incredible! For now that's enough, I will share more with you later. My purpose for starting this blog is one of importance to a lot of creative people that I have met and am now associated with. Approximately a year ago I started a company called Art for Design. The sole purpose for this was to fill a serious need of the many artists, sculptors, etc. that I have come to know.That need is to introduce them to the American market and beyond. I also believe art should be available to everyone, not just the rich and famous. In order to do that I have designed a website called Art for Design, which you can view at www.artfordesign.co.uk
I am asking you to take a look and of course give me back some feedback. I want to introduce as many artists from Wales as possible but in order to reach this goal, I need sales, I need investors and I even need donations from those who are willing to take a chance on a new idea.
My desire is to take the artist out of the usual expensive way of getting their works shown. i.e through galleries that so often charge exorbitant fees. I have taken a big leap. I feel all artists have the right to make a good living using their creative ability. At present, I am just promoting Welsh artists to the United States because I know that country and realize Americans generally know so little about what Wales has to offer and what a beautiful country this is.
I am open to comments, ideas or a dollar even that would be useful in adding some financial strength to this program. I want to make this country known for more than just a successful Las Vegas singer and who knows, if this works maybe we could create a whole new appreciation for the world of art and creativity.
